# Delete scheduled post

`DELETE /api/apps/{app_id}/social-calendar/posts/{post_id}`

Removes a [post](/developers/references/apps-api/sections/virality#scheduled-posts) from the app's social calendar.

This is how you cancel a post you already scheduled. A deleted post never publishes, even when a publisher run is already waiting on its scheduled time. The one exception is a post whose status is [`publishing`](/developers/references/apps-api/sections/virality#scheduled-posts), which can't be deleted because the request to the platform may already be in flight.

Deleting a post that's already deleted succeeds, so a repeated call is safe. The post stops appearing in [List scheduled posts](/api-reference/list-scheduled-posts) and reads as not found afterwards.

## Path parameters

- `post_id` string, required — ID of the post, as returned by [List scheduled posts](/api-reference/list-scheduled-posts).
- `app_id` string, required — ID of the app whose social calendar you want.

## Response `200`

The post is deleted.

- DeleteScheduledPostResponse
  - `status` string — Always `ok`. The post is deleted, or was already.

## Other responses

- `401` — Missing or invalid credentials.
- `403` — You don't have editor access to this app, or you used a workspace API key.
- `404` — App not found, the post doesn't exist or is already deleted, or the social calendar is not enabled for your account.
- `409` — The post's status is `publishing`. See [Scheduled posts](/developers/references/apps-api/sections/virality#scheduled-posts) for what that means.
- `422` — Validation Error
- `429` — Rate limit exceeded (20 requests per minute), shared across creating, editing, deleting, and approving posts. See [Rate limits](/developers/references/apps-api/get-started/rate-limits).
