# Delete a model response

`DELETE /api/v1/responses/{response_id}`

Deletes a stored response and its input and output items. Responses that chain from it stay retrievable. A create request whose `previous_response_id` chain passes through the deleted response still works, but the replayed history starts after the deleted response. A response that is still in progress is not stored yet and returns 404.
