# Break TikTok results down by audience

`POST /api/v1/tools/tiktok_get_audience_insights/execute`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://adako.ai`
- URL: `https://adako.ai/api/v1/tools/tiktok_get_audience_insights/execute`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Breaks spend, impressions, CTR, conversions and CPA down by age, gender, placement, device OS or language for a window.
Use when: the user asks who their TikTok ads are reaching, or whether a placement or age band is worth keeping. Scope it with campaign_id or adgroup_id.
Do not read this as a targeting instruction. TikTok decided where the budget went, and a band with a high CPA is often one the algorithm bought cheaply on purpose; excluding it commonly just raises the price of everything that remains. Recommend an exclusion only when a band has meaningful spend and no conversions at all over a long enough window.
Do not use age or gender data to make claims about individuals, and do not target sensitive categories — TikTok restricts them and so does Adako.
Returns one table per requested breakdown, each ranked by spend, with each band's share of total spend so a 2% slice is not mistaken for a finding. If a breakdown comes back empty, TikTok does not report that dimension for this objective; say so rather than inferring anything.

## Headers

- `Idempotency-Key` string

## Request body

- object
  - `arguments` object
    - `advertiser_id` string: TikTok advertiser id (a long numeric string). Only needed when the user has authorised more than one advertiser. Omit it to use the primary one.
    - `campaign_id` string: Only this campaign.
    - `adgroup_id` string: Only this ad group.
    - `breakdowns` string[]: Which splits to return (default age and gender). Each one is a separate request to TikTok.
    - `date_range` 'today' | 'yesterday' | 'last_7_days' | 'last_14_days' | 'last_30_days' | 'this_month' | 'last_month': Preset window. The "last N days" ones end yesterday, so no partial day is mixed in — it matters on TikTok, where video metrics settle for hours. Either this or start_date + end_date, never both.
    - `start_date` string: First day, YYYY-MM-DD. Needs end_date.
    - `end_date` string: Last day, YYYY-MM-DD, inclusive. Needs start_date.
    - `raw_data` boolean: Return compact JSON only (no markdown). Use when you will compute on the result.

## Response `200`

The tool ran. A write returns proposal_id and approve_url while the change waits for approval.

    - `used` integer
    - `limit` integer
    - `period_end` string
    - `upgrade_url` string
  - `proposal_id` string: Present for writes. Nothing changes on the ad platform until it is approved.
