# Clone a Source site

`POST /source-sites/{sourceSiteId}/actions/clone`

Creates a clone of an existing Source CMS site. The cloned site will be created in the
specified target subscription with a new label. Site configuration, components, and
structure are replicated to the new site.

This is an asynchronous operation. The endpoint returns immediately with a 202 Accepted
response.

**Permissions:** The authenticated user must have admin access to the source site and
the ability to create sites in the target subscription.

- `sourceSiteId` string, required

## Request body

- object
  - `subscription_id` string, uuid, required: The UUID of the target subscription where the cloned site will be created. Must be a subscription the authenticated user has access to.
  - `label` string, required: The human-readable label for the cloned site. Must start with a lowercase letter or number and can contain lowercase letters, numbers, hyphens, and spaces.

      - `deprecation` string: A URL to a resource that provides deprecation information
      - `name` string: A secondary key for selecting links
      - `profile` string: A URI that hints about the profile of the target resource
      - `title` string: A human-readable identifier for the link
      - `hreflang` string: The language of the target resource
  - `_embedded` object: Embedded resources (optional)
  - `message` 'Site clone operation started.', required: Confirmation message indicating the clone operation has been initiated

- `500`: Internal Server Error
