# Deletes (detaches) a non-Published member from a launch group.

`DELETE /launch-groups/{launchGroupId}/member-site-instances/{siteId}.{environmentId}`

Detaches the site instance identified in the path from the launch group. Does not delete the underlying site instance. Rejects with a `409` if the site instance is the group's Published member — publish a different member first. Any domains already assigned to the group are unaffected. Requires the `manage launch group` permission.
