# Adjudicate an Order

`POST /order/{orderId}/adjudication`

Accurate’s API allows you adjudicate orders without having to log into the Client Portal. Additionally, as position  location information is an important aspect of adjudication, you can also update position location information  through this API.

- `orderId` string, required

## Request body

- AdjudicationRequest
  - `result` string, required — The adjudication result you want to set for the order.
  - `adjudicator` string, email, required — Email address of adjudicator.
  - `completedIndividualizedAssesment` boolean — Attests that an the client has performed an individualized assessment on the candidate before PA/AA letters are sent out. This field is required when the adjudication result is 'FAIL' (or equivalent) and the position location is in California.
  - `clientNotes` string — Accompanying notes for the adjudication decision. This is not passed to the candidate/employee and will not show on the consumer report.
  - `reasonType` string — Accepts "criminal" or "not criminal" only. Required when Accurate is providing Adverse Action notices on your company’s behalf, the adjudication result is fail, and the position location country is US.
  - `reason` string — Required when Accurate is providing Adverse Action notices on your company’s behalf, the adjudication result is fail, the position location country is US, the reasonType is criminal, and the job location is considered a special jurisdiction which requires a reason to be specified in Adverse Action notices.
  - `assessmentForm.Company_Name` string — **County of Los Angeles Unincorporated Cities&ast;**: Employer name. <br/> **City of Los Angeles&ast;**: Employer name. <br/> **New York&ast;**: Contact information for candidate to provide additional information if desired.
