# Check whether anything changed, without reading any data.

`GET /api/Sync/version`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.3dprintlog.com`
- URL: `https://api.3dprintlog.com/api/Sync/version`
- Auth: one of:
  - OAuth 2 (authorization code, authorization URL `https://3dprintlog.auth0.com/authorize`, token URL `https://3dprintlog.auth0.com/oauth/token`)
  - API key in header `X-Api-Key`
  - API key in query parameter `api_key`

Returns an opaque `version` that changes whenever printers, prints, spools, loaded
filament or settings change. The same value is the response's (weak) `ETag`; send it back
in `If-None-Match` to get a `304 Not Modified` with no body. Poll this about once a minute
and fetch `GET /api/sync/snapshot` only when it changes. A version can also change
without a data change (a server restart), which costs one extra snapshot fetch.

## Response `200`

Returned with the current version.

- PrintLogApiModelsDTOsSyncSyncVersionResponse: The caller's data version (#234). Opaque: compare it for equality, nothing else.
  - `version` string, nullable: Changes whenever anything the snapshot reports may have changed.

## Other responses

- `304`: Returned when `If-None-Match` matches the current version.
- `401`: Returned if the caller is not authenticated.
- `403`: Forbidden
