# Text a verification code to an SMS target

`POST /v1/notification-targets/{id}/verify/start`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.1claw.co`
- URL: `https://api.1claw.co/v1/notification-targets/{id}/verify/start`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Sends a six-digit code from the same channel the target's notifications
will come from — a code arriving from a different number than the one
the recipient will later see is a code they are right to distrust.

Expires in 10 minutes. Five wrong answers void it.

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid request
- `403`: Insufficient permissions
- `404`: Resource not found
