# Deactivate a signing key for a chain

`DELETE /v1/agents/{agent_id}/signing-keys/{chain}`

## Request

- Auth: HTTP bearer

Human users only. A self-custody (`client_tss`) agent key can be
deactivated only by its owner (the user who holds shares 2 and 3);
anyone else gets 403. Gated by control-plane consensus as
`signing_key.deactivate` (202 with `pending_approval_id`; call again
with `?approval_id=`).

## Response `202`

The org requires M-of-N consensus on `signing_key.deactivate`.
