# Report the outcome of a payment

`POST /v1/agents/{agent_id}/pay/{payment_id}/result`

## Request

Best-effort reporting. Moves the audit trail forward and nothing else — `settled: false` does **not** release daily-limit headroom, and the response says `limit_released: false` so the caller need not infer it.

  - `http_status` integer
  - `settled` boolean, nullable: Null means the caller could not tell — a timeout after the header was sent, where the payment may or may not have been presented.
  - `error` string, nullable
