# Verify SIWE signature

`POST /v1/auth/web3/verify`

## Request

Verify a signed SIWE message for an existing active wallet account, consume the single-use nonce, and set auth cookies for browser/session flows. Unknown wallets receive HTTP 403 with `wallet_account_required`; verification never creates a Free account. Standard Free signup is available at https://0xarchive.io/signup and paid wallet access at `/v1/web3/subscribe`.

## Request body

- Web3VerifyRequest
  - `message` string, required: SIWE message returned by `/v1/auth/web3/challenge` and signed by the wallet.
  - `signature` string, required: 65-byte hex ECDSA signature, with or without 0x prefix.

## Response `200`

SIWE verification succeeded and session cookies were set.

- Web3AuthResponse: Successful SIWE verification response for an existing wallet account. The route also sets auth cookies for browser/session flows.
  - `success` boolean, required
  - `user` Web3UserInfo, required
    - `id` string, uuid, required
    - `email` string, required: Account email associated with the wallet user.
    - `tier` string, required: Current subscription tier.
    - `wallet_address` string, required: Authenticated wallet address.
  - `is_new_user` false, required: Always false. SIWE verification does not create wallet accounts.

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid request: a parameter, symbol, interval, cursor or time range failed validation. See `error_code`.
- `401`: Authentication required: the API key is missing or invalid.
- `403`: The wallet does not have an existing account.
- `429`: Rate limit, concurrency limit or monthly credits exceeded. See `error_code`.
- `default`: Any other error. The body is an `ErrorResponse`; branch on `error_code`. A 503 (`upstream_unavailable`) carries `Retry-After`.
